Our Coalition

Our Coalition

We are a mom-led, family-powered, clinician-informed coalition ensuring children have timely access to pediatric hearing aids and specialists.

We are supported by medical experts, children’s hospitals, educators, advocacy organizations—including close partnership with Children Now—along with civic leaders and public voices across California and the United States.

Driven by children and families—alongside clinicians and advocates—we are working to expand access to sound when it matters most.

With Gratitude

This work is made possible by individuals who contribute their time, expertise, stories, and voice in service of children and families.

Leadership

Led by Michelle Marciniak, founder of Let California Kids Hear, alongside her daughter, Marie, this is a nearly decade-long, family-driven effort—driven by the children at its center.

Michelle brings experience across federal policy, nonprofit leadership, and pediatric healthcare, including work in the United States Senate and at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Sparked in 2017 by a Los Angeles infant deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) teacher, this work continues today under Michelle Marciniak, Marie, and the coalition.

For decades, families have fought for equal access to sound—since newborn hearing screening began in the 1990s, legislation has been introduced time and again, yet the gap for children remains.

That’s what we’re here to change—to ensure all children have access to sound.
